ADA Building Blocks Online Course Available
The Southeast Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center, in collaboration with the 10 regional ADA Technical Assistance Centers, is hosting on online course entitled ADA Building Blocks. This self-paced course is organized into 12 sections, and is intended to explore the legal requirements and spirit of the ADA. "At Your Service: Welcoming Customers with Disabilities" by Southeast DBTAC

The objectives of this course are to:
* Increase understanding of the needs and experiences of people with disabilities
* Present how to adjust general customer service standards to meet the needs of the customer with a disability
* Develop basic etiquette for interacting with a customer who has a disability
* Show how to comply with statutes regarding service to people with disabilities, particularly the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508

Players take on the role of advocates for disability rights in one of eight virtual communities in the Southeastern United States and work together to improve compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in their communities in the areas of: Program Access, Public Accommodations, Transportation, Employment, and Communication.

Access E-Learning (AEL) is a ten-module tutorial that is a resource for those seeking to make their distance education accessible for individuals with disabilities. AEL offers information on the most common needs in distance education, and provides instruction in techniques that will enhance the usability of online materials for all students. University of Washington Video Library - Streaming, VHS, and Download.

DO-IT offers a large collection of educational videotapes that can be used in training. They relate to people with disabilities, assistive technology, accessible information technology, college transition, faculty training, career preparation, and accessible campus services. They are available as streaming videos at http://www.washington.edu/doit/Video/. They can also be purchased in VHS format. If you would like to download these video files, let me know and I will arrange for you to have access to the files.
