Issue: Excessive Foot pounds of Pressure on Men’s Bathroom Door – 1st Floor near Entrance to Elections Office

ANSI: 404.2.8 Door-Opening Force

The force for pushing or pulling open doors other than fire doors shall be as follows:

  • Interior hinged door: 5:0 pounds maximum
  • Sliding or folding door: 5:0 pounds maximum

Recommendation:

  • Adjust door opening pressure

Issue:  Height of Waiting Ticket Dispenser – Auto License – Ticket Dispenser is 51.5 high at the ticket distribution point.  The height cannot exceed 48 inches.

ANSI:  3087.3  Side Reach


ANSI 308.3.1 Unobstructed – Where a clear floor space allows a parallel approach to an element and the side reach is unobstructed, the high side reach shall be 48 inches maximum and the low side reach shall be 15 inches minimum above the floor.

Recommendation:

    • Lower the dispenser as required

ANSI 705.5 Truncated Domes – Detectable warning surfaces shall have truncated domes complying with Section 705.5
